Technical terms that will help out!

OOC - Out of Character is referring to you, the player, out of the city and not in an in-game sense.

IC - In character is reference you being your character, or in the city! These terms are used when you are talking about something that happened "in city" playing. You are considered, "In the city". .

Meta, The Big M, Metagaming - To metagame, is to use any knowledge you learn out of character to influence your character in roleplay.

Powergaming - Powergaming is utilizing things that give you an unfair advantage over other players. For example: Pulling people out of cars without interaction by using your F6 menu if the option is available to you.

Another Soul - Another character that you have on the server. This can also be referred to as your cousin. You should try to avoid talking about them to maintain immersion.

RDM Random Deathmatch - This is an unprovoked, not roleplayed-out death. Example: Someone just running up to you and stabbing you for no reason.

VDM - Vehicle Deathmatch -This is an unprovoked, not role played out death by vehicle. Example: Someone just RAMS right into you while you’re walking across the street, speeding off without anything else.

Voicebox, vocal cords - Your voice through the mic/game. Sometimes people will say you need to clear your throat because your mic is acting funny.

Tweeter -The Twitter app on your phone. Create an account. It is only for the server (NOTE: tweeter is in character and the channel in Discord for it, is too.)

Locals - These are the AI avatars that walk around SOL City! They're the NPCs.

Godmodding, Godmode - Using godmode is a way to prevent yourself from taking damage or anything else that would affect your character in a way that makes them untouchable. This is something that only high-level admins/developers have access to. An ordinary player would be utilizing a cheat system in order to apply this to themselves.

Retcon - Whatever just happened in your scene, is wiped. Forgotten. Never happened. This isn't something that should truly happen unless there is a heavy situation that renders it necessary. Typically a staff situation. Everyone involved is made aware.

Fail RP - Fail RP is failing to roleplay in a way that is realistic. Examples can include being detained/handcuffed and still using your phone or radio.

Fear for your Life - Fearing for your life, is roleplaying out fear in a situation that requires it. Kidnapping, gun to the head, etc. Not fearing for your life is the opposite and should not be done. You should always fear for your character's life.

Skybox - OOC box that is accessable in the city when you press “t” to type in a command.

PTT - Push to talk. This is how you should be using your mic in the city to help reduce any leaked sounds from your background coming through. It is respectful! Push to talk means you push a button to talk over mic.

Hot Micing - Hot Micing is when your mic is just open. When people can hear everything behind you, around you, and most often it includes obnoxious static. This often comes from someone using voice activation or continuous when they do not have their noise gate correct.

Zombie - When you take a flight from the city, your connection cuts and your character turns into a local. Often seen with bright green hair.

Taking a flight in/out This is in reference to leaving and/or entering the city.

Waking up Same this as flying in. Just another way to say they’re coming into the city.

Gander - It means everything and anything and sometimes nothing. Often used to refer to "looking" at something.
