Community Rules and Guidelines

Welcome to OptimaRP server! We're committed to providing a fun and immersive roleplaying experience for all players.

1. General Rules:

1.1. No Metagaming: Do not use out-of-character (OOC) information to influence in-character (IC) decisions or actions. IC actions should be based on in-game or roleplay information only.

1.2. No Powergaming: Do not force actions on other players or create unrealistic scenarios. Roleplay should be interactive and consent-based.

1.2.1 In Game Abuse: Use of in-game functions such as “bluetooth” to discover a player's name “in city” when they refused to give it to you is not acceptable. This also applies to anyone that uses the Green Zones to avoid a conflict they were involved in as well as any Government Official or Staff Member trying to use their position to discourage others RP.

1.3. Respect All Players: Treat all players with respect, regardless of their role or character. Harassment, stalking, hate speech, and discriminatory behavior will not be tolerated.

1.3.1 Streamer TOS: Any player caught to be violating at TOS for any Streaming Platform within the city will be met with the same consequences as 1.3 This issue will be taken to a higher standard due to the impact it can cause on others source of revenue and entertainment.

1.4. No Intent to Role Play (NITRP): This server is dedicated to roleplaying (RP), and players are expected to engage in RP activities rather than engaging in actions like reckless driving similar to GTA, random killing (RDM), or vehicle destruction (VDM). NITRP is strictly prohibited and subject to enforcement.

1.4.1 Breaking Character: Individuals must stay in character and finish the scene, situation, or issue. If a problem has occurred, do not “pause” the scene. Simply play the scene out and open a ticket to discuss what had happened. Please make sure to submit in as much detail as possible and provide video proof

1.5. No FailRP: FailRP occurs when characters in an RP scene break character or engage in actions that are not consistent with proper RP. This includes actions like reviving after being killed, changing or respawning vehicles, or any other actions that don't fit the RP scene. FailRP can result in a kick or ban.

1.6. New Life/Character Rule (NLR): A simplified version of NLR is enforced on this server. If your character dies, you can continue roleplaying as them, but you should not remember or seek retribution against anyone involved in a previous RP scene where your character died. You should act as if those events never happened. If you are creating an RP story where it includes a “perma” of a character, and a family member or friend of that character is informed about the “death” you will not know any details about that character's death. The only knowledge you will know is what you find out in the city. Do not leak information from one character you have to another.

1.6.1. Character Bleeding: Any information you had on your previous character or another character (“cousin”) should not be known by the current or new character you are playing.

1.7. No Combat Logging: Combat logging is the act of logging out to avoid interactions or hinder ongoing RP scenes. This includes avoiding police or escaping from a robbery. Combat logging is not permitted and can result in a ban.

1.8. No Avoiding Staff: Avoiding staff members, other than combat logging, is also prohibited. Actions such as not complying when asked by staff, running away, or avoiding staff in other ways will result in a ban. Exiting the game in these situations is considered combat logging.

1.9. Character Backstories: Develop a believable and coherent character backstory that fits within the game world. Avoid creating characters with unrealistic or overpowered abilities.

1.10. Initiation:

What is initiation?

Initiation is the process of beginning a roleplay (RP) interaction with another player. To initiate an RP interaction, you need to make your intentions clear to the other player. It's important that you are visible to the other player and within shouting distance. You should have both visual and voice contact with the player. You must also allow the other person to respond to your RP with words or actions. Possible responses from the other player may include running away, verbal communication, or even brandishing a weapon. Please note that shooting someone as your first response is not acceptable.

How long should an initiation take?

The duration of initiation may vary depending on the situation, but it should be long enough for the other player to understand your intentions and respond accordingly. It's crucial to provide ample time for the other player to engage in the RP. Shooting someone immediately after they respond to you or initiating interactions solely for the purpose of robbing them is considered FailRP. The use of firearms should be a last resort following initiation and interaction. If you fail to follow these interaction rules, it will be classified as FailRP. An example of FailRP is approaching someone without any initiation and shooting or robbing them.

How long does the initiation last?

You can continue the RP with the same initiation for up to 10 minutes. If you haven't had contact with that player after 10 minutes, you need to initiate again. For example, if you initiate an RP, and the other player runs away, and you encounter them again within 2 minutes, you can continue the initiation. However, you must still make them aware that you're pursuing them. If you lose sight of them and more than 10 minutes have passed since the initial interaction, you must initiate again from scratch. The previous interaction is considered concluded.

1.11. No Mic or Chat Spamming: Mic spamming (loud shouting or screaming) and chat spamming (repeating the same message in text) are not allowed. This also includes using soundboards, voice changers, or sending loud sounds through voice chat, radio, or RTO.

2. In-Game Conduct:

2.1. Robberies and Crimes: All criminal activities must be roleplayed and make sense within the context of the server's world. Avoid random and excessive violence. All individuals must wait a 5 minute period for PD to show up in any robbery. If PD does not show up within the 5 minutes you are free to leave. Any crimes that involve PD can’t be started 30 minutes before tsunami (restart) and 30 minutes after tsunami (restart).

2.1.1 Criminals Involved: The max amount of criminals that can take part in any Robbery or Crime is 6. A maximum of 3 vehicles can be used for any scene; this also includes any intercept vehicles.

2.1.2. No Pocket Wipes: If you rob an individual for any reason, you may not “clean out their pockets.” You must pick to either take their weapons, tools, or cash. You can not leave them with nothing. You must pick what you will take and what you will leave. Multiple people can not rob the same person in the same scene.

2.2. Fear Roleplay: If a character has a weapon pointed at them, they must realistically fear for their life and comply with demands.

2.3. Value of Life: Your character's life does have value. Avoid taking unnecessary risks and engaging in unrealistic confrontations.

2.3.1. Unrealistic Jumps: Any jump taken that would result in the injury of a person or completely destroying their vehicle should not be taken. Going off a highway overpass at 110 MPH to hope you land on another street is not valuing your life. This also goes for any jumps or extreme stunts attempted on foot.

2.4. No VDM and No RDM: VDM refers to randomly driving a vehicle and colliding with people without any RP purpose, while RDM stands for randomly attacking or killing other players without RP purpose. Both VDM and RDM are against the rules.

2.4.1 No Ambush RP: Shooting people from a distance and leaving, without proper initiation or RP context, is considered FailRP/RDM. Ambushing someone is allowed only if you have their agreement or a mutual understanding, and there must be some form of initiation.

2.4.2 No Random Player Killing: Players are not allowed to randomly kill each other without a proper RP context or justification. Characters must fully engage in RP, and failure to do so is considered FailRP.

2.5. No Sexual or Erotic RP: No sexual or erotic roleplay is allowed in public or private. This is a violation of CFX TOS.. Violations of this rule will result in bans.

2.5.1 Sexual Assault RP: Any RP that has regards to alligations of Sexual Assault with another player or with a fictional being, will have no place at Optimal RP. These types of scenarios are a very “loaded” situation that is unpleasant to interact with much less to have to watch. If an issue occurs that a player does attempt to sexual assault another, please immediately stop the scene and notify an Admin/Staff via ticket. Offense of this rule will result in an immediate ban.

2.6. Clarification for RDM and Robbing Players: Randomly robbing players or killing them for the sole purpose of robbing them is not allowed. You must have a valid roleplay reason, such as an established interaction with the specific person that leads to hostile actions. Robbing someone simply because you want their items or money is not acceptable.

2.7. Fear/Respect of Law Enforcement: Players should act as if they respect and fear law enforcement (police). Robbing police is not typically acceptable, and players are not allowed to possess any items or weapons unique to the police.

2.7.1 Holding a cop at gunpoint: You may hold an officer at gunpoint on the scene of a crime to get back the items from that specific scene or any other evidence recovered on that officer. NO PD WEAPONS/ITEMS

2.8. No Injecting into RP Scenes: Players who are not directly or indirectly involved in an RP scene should stay out of it. Interfering with RP scenes you are not part of may result in warnings, kicks, or bans.

2.9. No Forced RP: Players should never force others to engage in RP scenes. If someone expresses their disinterest in RPing a particular scene, respect their choice and leave them alone. If you do not communicate your disinterest, the other party will not be held responsible, and you cannot file a complaint with the staff. Reports must be filled within 48 hours of the scene.

2.9.1 Hits: If any hit is established on a player, the target player must be notified in a RP scenario of the hit on them. Once the target player has been notified they can choose to reject or accept the scene and continue play. Any hit that is established and accepted on both sides must be served within 48 hours from the first post of hit.

2.10. No Griefing: Repetitive harassment of a player across multiple scenes is not allowed. Camping or waiting for players to exit green zones and attacking them is also prohibited.

2.10.1 Harassment: If you have been notified by a player that they do not want to talk to you or have any contact with you, it should be a respected demand. This is not a request. You are to eliminate any contact you have with that person unless absolutely necessary to a scene. If you go OOC and DM this said person it will be an elevated issue and consequences will match.

2.11. No Robbing AFK Players: Robbing AFK players is not allowed.

2.12. No Meta Gaming: Players should not use information they are aware of to gain an advantage in RP situations. This includes information outside of the RP scene, such as the names of players speaking in-game or messages in "/ooc." Using Discord or other outside communication in an RP scene is also considered meta gaming. Additionally, using in-game commands to find players' names is not allowed and is considered exploitative.

2.13. No Cop Baiting: Intentionally seeking police attention by performing actions you wouldn't do in the presence of an officer, such as burnouts, revving your engine to bait a pull over, or committing traffic violations near a police officer, is not allowed.

2.14. No Shooting/Robbing Cops/EMS When Only One Is On Duty: If there is only one cop/ems on duty, players are not allowed to shoot or rob them. This rule aims to prevent situations where the lone cop has no backup. Offenders will be reported to the staff.

2.14.1 Police/EMS Vehicles: Police/EMS Vehicles, regardless if left unlocked, should not be robbed or stolen. Players caught doing such will result in a warning issued and “in city” offense.

2.15. No Shooting Police for No Good RP Reason: Shooting a cop without a valid RP reason, such as a traffic stop, will be considered RDM. Shooting police is acceptable only in established RP scenes, like a robbery, where it makes sense for the story.

2.16. No Non-Police Emergency Lights on Public Roads: Civilian players are not allowed to use vehicles with flashing emergency lights on public roads. Only authorized agencies like police, EMS, DOT, or towing can use such vehicles.

2.17. No Political/Social IRL RP: Players should avoid RPing real-world political, religious, social issues, or any "real world" topics, as these subjects can be divisive.

2.18. No Suicide RP: RP scenes involving suicide are strictly prohibited and result in an immediate temporary ban or possible permanent ban.

2.19. Domestic Violence RP: Actions taken that are classified as “Domestic Violence” will not be accepted. The roleplay of a physical abusive relationship is not welcome on Optimal RP.

2.20. Perma of Character: If you wish to “Perma” a character give Staff notice before doing so, so that it can be prepared for. This will be done by submitting a General Ticket with your request and plans on the scene. Staff will then notify EMS of your intentions. Once the scene has finished the “perma” character will be deleted from your list.

2.21. Realistic Vehicle Use: Drive the vehicle you are occupying in or on the type of roadway or trail that the vehicle would be best suited for. Any use of a vehicle in a matter that is unrealistic by Civilians, Criminals, or First Responders (PD & EMS) will result in a warning or ban depending on the occurrence and amount of offenses against the individual.

2.22. No Voice ID: Individuals are not allowed to use the voice of a player to ID them in any scenario. Some people are not gifted in the ability to use multiple voices. We should respect that and let them play “who they are '', with that being said, no individual should try to mock or replicate someone's voice in a scene to cause an issue for another player.

3. Out-of-Character (OOC) Chat:

3.1. OOC Communication: Use appropriate channels for OOC communication. Avoid using OOC chat during RP situations.

3.2. Respect OOC Rules: Follow server-specific OOC rules and guidelines, such as the use of OOC tags or chat channels.

4. Green Zones:

4.1. Green zones include but are not limited to: ● Staff Events ● Hospital ● Player ran events

4.2. No Loitering in Green Zone: In green zones, players may stay for a maximum of 5 minutes, except for conducting necessary business like visiting the hospital due to injury. Staying in green zones beyond the time limit without a valid reason is prohibited.

5. Character Creation:

5.1. No GTA or Default Peds: Using stock GTA characters in the RP server is not allowed. Players must create custom peds using the F1 menu and MP Ped Customization. Default/Custom Peds are only used when approved by Staff/Admins.

5.2. Appropriate Avatars: Use character avatars that are not offensive or inappropriate.

5.3. No Animal RP: Players cannot use animal peds. If players are found in animal peds and refuse to change, they will be banned.

6. Reporting Violations:

6.1. Report Rule Violations: If you witness a rule violation, report it to server staff or moderators. Do not engage in vigilantism.

6.2. Provide Evidence: When reporting rule violations, provide clear evidence, such as screenshots or videos, to support your claim.

6.3. No Policing the Police: Players who believe they were mistreated by police during an RP situation should address the issue in character. Use the proper channels for reporting an officer's misconduct. Do not contact an admin unless a clear server rule violation has occurred.

6.3.1 Request a Judge: If there is misconduct within PD take the proper RP channels and seek an appointment with a Judge in RP at city hall. If you feel the police broke a rule then report it after the fact in discord with evidence.

6.3.2 Request a Lawyer: If you are under arrest or being detained for any reason, you can request a lawyer be present. Officers must allow this or the officers involved can face charges or FailRP violations depending on the degree of restrictions. Use the “Discordia” to request a lawyer or use your “one phone call” to contact a Lawyer “in the city.”

6.4. Finish the scene: Make sure that if you are in the middle of a RP scene and there is a rule break you finish the RP and report it after the fact to staff. DO NOT break rules just to catch someone.

7.Penalties:

7.1. Penalties for Violations: Violating server rules may result in warnings, temporary bans, or permanent bans, depending on the severity of the infraction and the server's policies.

8.Gang Roleplay Rules:

8.1. Penalizations: Each gang leader is expected to make sure that their gang members are following server rules. Your gang will be held to the rules AS A WHOLE if there are rule breaks involving the gang: *First Offense: All Gangs will receive a written warning of a rule break violation. (Any violation.) *Second Offense: Strike 1 (No Action Taken, other than receiving the Strike.) *Third Offense: Strike 2 (Loss of all gang perks and a 14 day suspension.) *Fourth Offense: Disbandment All strikes will reset to Strike 1 level after 30 days. If no other disciplinary is received after 45 days they will reset back to a warning level. After 45 days the gang will be eligible for perks again. (When you reset to the warning level.) You (as a leader) should only be recruiting trustworthy people, and as such, they are YOUR responsibility, not ours. Gangs are required to maintain at least 5 active members after being whitelisted, if activity drops below the required amount, gangs will receive a warning to increase activity within a 30 day period. If activity does not improve after 30 days, the gang will be disbanded with the option to reapply in 30 days with increased activity/more members.

8.2. Applying Gangs: Gangs submitting an application are required to provide a roster of at least 10 active members for consideration. If approved - gangs are required to maintain this level of activity for the entirety of their probationary period. The probationary period for newly whitelisted gangs is 30 days. After the probationary period is up, gangs will be reduced to a minimum requirement of 5 active members.

8.3. Suspension Notes: While we reserve the right to suspend and/or disband your gang at any time, following the guidelines above a gang may be placed on suspension. During this suspension time, your gang is no longer allowed to affiliate with one another on a gang level for a duration of typically 2 weeks (also subject to a shorter or longer time as determined by the team). During suspension, the following applies: No gang activity of any kind. This includes, but is not limited to, going into enemy turfs, selling drugs as a gang or retaliating as a gang. No gang colors or representation. Color entails vehicles and clothing and/or face masks. Representation entails gang signs or yelling/tweeting your gang name in any context. You are allowed to retaliate if another gang attacks you, however we will be watching the actions of the suspended gangs. If that sounds difficult, it’s meant to be. Removal of all perks (features included with the in-game rosters) associated with your gang. Gangs will not automatically regain these perks after the 60 days are up, and it is based on Gang Management discretion and the activity levels of the Gang during this time.

8.4. Rosters: Every gang must have a roster. A link will be provided to you. It is the responsibility of the leader(s) to make sure it is kept up to date:

8.4.1 A gang must have a minimum of 1 leader and can have a maximum of 2. Your gang must have at least 5 active members.

8.4.2 Each individual can only have one character on a gang roster at any time.

8.5. Colors: Gang colors can be chosen and worn, but they are NOT allowed to be enforced with average everyday citizens. IE the color of someone's car being green and you press them. This will be enforced as a rule break.

8.5.1 Gang Colors are to be treated as a distinct and clear way to identify your Gang during a Gang War. A Gang is not required to wear their Colors at all times, unless it is during a Gang War scene, where it must be worn to distinguish the sides of the conflict and to clearly show who is part of the Gang War scene. All colors must be posted in the gang-general-chat channel where they can be visible to the other Gang Leaders.

8.5.2 Each Gang must define their gang’s distinct colors in a way that it cannot be accidentally worn by a regular player. Just saying a “Red Hockey Mask” is not considered colors. It needs to be a set combination of face/head wear, shirts, pants, and other accessories that you deem necessary for your Colors.

8.5.3 Vehicle colors during a Gang War should mirror the base color used in a Gang’s Colors. Outside of a Gang War, it is not required.

8.6 Gang Wars: Before a gang war is started or group combat is established, a ticket must be submitted by one of the gang leaders stating the cause for the war and the RP that happened to justify it. If a war is established and sanctioned it can last up to 72 hours. During these 72 hours, each involved gang can not recruit any additional members. Unofficial gangs can not claim to be at war with another gang with the proper steps taken.

8.6.1 “Buy In”: Each gang must have stakes in order to have a war. The minimum amount required to start a gang war is $250,000 and a minimum of 1 Territory claimed by each involved gang.

8.6.2 Rules of Engagement: After the ticket and prerequisites are confirmed, Staff will add in the Second in Command for each gang along with the Leaders of the gangs so that they can discuss, arrange, and establish whatever rules both sides would like to keep. This includes any extra stakes each side would like to put up against the other.

8.6.3 Colors: During a war, each member of the battle must make sure to “rep their colors” at all times. This can be up to 10 members involved from each side.

8.6.4 Safe Havens: Once the war has started, the Gang Hideouts are now considered Green Zones, and no conflict can be taken at these locations. If each side wishes to meet at the location to discuss something, then so be it, but no physical violence can be acted out in these areas. If a player is seen retreating to the “Safe Havens” during a fight, they will be suspended from any other actions in the war and a possible temporary ban depending on the situation.

8.6.5 Drive By: Each gang is allowed one “drive-by” that can not be claimed as RDM. Each side must notify the other of when they plan to do this event. During the event, any individuals downed from either side, can not be looted.

8.6.6 After the War: After the war has ended, both sides of the conflict must stay on a 7 day cooldown before they engage in any other wars or conflicts. Vocal dialog or other means to “stir up trouble” are permitted but they can not partake in an all out conflict for the 7 days.

9. Gun fight Rules:

9.1. Balanced Matchmaking: 6v6 encounters will be the max allowed on either side cops or criminals. This ensures a fair experience for both sides. The only exception to this rule is when an officer goes down all of JSPD can and will respond.

9.2. Roleplay Before Combat: Make sure there is initiation before gunfights, there needs to be active beef and some type of dialog before the shooting starts.

9.3. Warrants and Arrests: Law enforcement should have a valid in-character reason, such as a warrant or evidence, to arrest a criminal character. Criminals should respect this process and roleplay their arrest realistically.

10. EMS/PD Roleplay Rules:

10.1. Realistic Medical Roleplay: EMS need to engage in realistic medical roleplay. They should follow proper procedures for treating injuries and illnesses, whether in the field or at the hospital. This can include administering first aid, CPR, splinting broken bones, and more.

10.1.1 No power-gaming player injuries: EMS needs to make sure they are checking for a player's injuries and treating them accordingly, improper medical RP will be a violation of the rules.

10.1.2. Pregnancy RP: All parties of the Pregnancy must consent to play out the full scene from start to finish before making their character “appear pregnant”. A date of birth must be given to EMS in order to help with their RP side of the scene. The pregnancy RP scene will take 4 weeks from start to finish. All parties involved should not make any life threatening actions that would jeopardize the safety of the child. No violence will be played on those that are “pregnant” and no child can be born with unnatural abilities or non-human.

10.2. Response Time: Response times for EMS will vary, do not have your buddy bring you to the hospital. Wait on EMS because they will be making the trip and you bringing them to the hospital may cause EMS to waste time.

10.3. Self-Revive: Players should not self-revive or leave RP scenes prematurely. Characters should remain in RP until the scene is over, and EMS has handled the situation. Players should not call the AI Medic during an ongoing scene. Self-reviving and early re-spawning can result in kicks or bans.

10.3.1 Abuse of Help: The action of making a report/ticket to request a revival due to something that is “scene” related will be considered an offense and result in disciplinary actions taken. All Admin/Staff should review or spectate a situation prior to performing any action on a player. If anyone sees this being abused, the proper steps should be taken to report it. We want fair play and RP.

10.4. Use of Force: Law enforcement should use appropriate levels of force, depending on the situation. Deadly force should only be used as a last resort. Weapon classes do need to be matched by PD. IE: Pistol on Pistol. Auto Pistol to SMG. SMG to SMG. AR to AR.

10.5. COP/EMS Kidnapping Restrictions: Players cannot kidnap or kill a cop or medic if they are the only one on duty. There must be justifiable RP prior to the kidnapping to show why such force or actions were taken.

11. Businesses:

11.1. Business ownership: Players can own 1 business of their choice. Businesses should be applied for through the discord, and will be granted on a case by case basis based on what the current city needs are, and ability to staff said business.

12. Messaging Staff:

12.1. Do not message staff/admins directly about your petty problems that should be in a ticket. Repeat offenses will be met with disciplinary actions.

12.2. Do not text or call Staff in the city to get their attention for Dev/Admin work. If you need to report a player or something needs to be fixed in the city, make a ticket.

Enjoy your time on our GTA RP server, and remember that roleplay and immersion are at the core of our community. These rules are in place to ensure a positive experience for all players. Please follow them, and if you have any questions or concerns, reach out to our staff in a ticket for assistance. Have fun and happy roleplaying!
